In order to keep everyone safe, security checkpoints are in place for anyone entering the Downtown Disney District, Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. The checkpoints are similar to airport security. Every Guest is required to walk thru a metal detector and to open bags for inspection. They are looking for weapons, alcohol and selfie sticks. Selfie sticks are NOT allowed inside the secured area because those pose a risk on the attractions.
